SUMMARY:The Power of Nervous System Variability
DESCRIPTION:Maybe you have spent a lot of your life trying to calm down. Settle. Even out. Be less. \n\n\n\nWhat if that was never the point? \n\n\n\nYour nervous system isn’t broken — it’s brilliantly\, beautifully variable. It moves through states the way weather moves through a landscape. And when you understand that range\, when you can feel it and work with it rather than against it — everything changes. \n\n\n\nOver six weeks we’ll use somatic practices to explore your nervous system from the inside out. \n\n\n\nThis is not about becoming calm. It’s about becoming fluent. \n\n\n\nWhat to expect: \n\n\n\nEach session runs 75 minutes in a small\, intentional group of ten women maximum. Every week will be led with experiential practices such as gentle movement\, breath awareness\, guided mindfulness and sensory exploration\, woven together with educationat points to make sense of what your body is telling you and empower you with the tools to find calm when anxiety runs high. \n\n\n\nYou won’t be put on the spot. You won’t be asked to share. You’ll simply be guided\, held\, and given space to notice. \n\n\n\nAll levels of ability are welcome. Please bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothing. \n\n\n\nFacilitated by Julie Chapman\, Certified Yoga Therapist. https://www.juliechapman.org

SUMMARY:Introduction to Hakomi
DESCRIPTION:What is Hakomi? \n\n\n\nBeing human is complicated. We are shaped by the family that raised us as well as the society/culture and global events the family is embedded within. These influences can create habits that limit our full potential. These habits operate in the background\, unconsciously influencing how we are with others as well as with ourselves. Hakomi reveals the unconscious habits that made you who you are and can transform them into who you want to be. \n\n\n\nHakomi draws from Eastern mind-body-spirit modalities and mindfulness as well as Western psychology and Living Systems Theory. While primarily a method of psychotherapy\, Hakomi fits with many mind-body\, educational\, coaching\, and wellness modalities. If you are in the healing arts field\, interested in self-discovery or find yourself intrigued by this word\, Hakomi\, please join! \n\n\n\nThis a FREE 2hr talk on Hakomi Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychology\, facilitated by Rupesh Chhagan. There will be a short lecture\, experiential exercises and a demonstration. Space is limited\, so please RSVP to reserve your spot. \n\n\n\nRupesh Chhagan is a BC Licensed TCMP (Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner) and Certified Hakomi Practitioner & Teacher.
