Exploring Hakomi: For Practitioners

October 18 @ 10:00 am 1:00 pm

Be The Practitioner Your Clients Need You To Be

Are you a mental health practitioner or holistic healthcare professional who feels like you’re working too hard or even, at times, dysregulated when you are with clients?

Research in interpersonal neurobiology and attachment shows that we affect one another at the level of the nervous system. Our nervous systems are continually responding to and influencing one another. We co-regulate. Therefore, good therapeutic outcomes are not just about protocol or technique. Connection with the client is crucial. The quality of your presence is crucial.

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn how to cultivate spaciousness and loving presence as a healing professional and avoid the common pitfalls of working too hard and rushing to “fix” rather than mindfully explore.

Drawing on the Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychology of Hakomi, we will practice the Five Principles and Loving Presence. Shift from doing to being, from fixing to exploring, and from efforting to ease.

This workshop includes lecture, experiential and partner exercises, giving you an opportunity to directly experience these principles in the practitioner’s seat. There will also be a live demonstration so you can witness Hakomi in action.

Please register here.

Workshop led by Rupesh Chhagan, a BC Licensed TCMP (Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner) and Certified Hakomi Practitioner & Trainer. More about Rupesh here: https://www.rupeshchhagan.com. More about Hakomi: https://hakomiinstitute.com/
