Go Deeper with Hakomi

September 15 @ 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Do you feel like you are skimming the surface with your clients? Are you listening to them talk about the same things week after week and repeating the same unproductive habits in their life? Or are you a holistic professional (acupuncturist, massage therapist, etc) who feels lost when big emotions, memories or important life themes arise as you work with the body?

When we are mostly working cognitively (thoughts, stories), we miss something crucial: the body. We are sensing, feeling creatures long before our brain and cognition develop. And when the client is in your office talking about their experience, instead of speaking from their experience, we miss the state of mind that has been used for thousands of years in transformation: mindfulness. Research shows that a neutral state of self-observation creates a labile state in the normal neural circuitry–a state that allows for change.

The opposite is true as well. We can release tense muscles or use acupuncture needles to shift a pattern like stress damaging digestion, but if we do not connect the body with mental and emotional habit patterns, the same symptoms show up week after week. You wind up playing whack-a-mole with symptoms.

This is a FREE 2hr talk on Hakomi Mindfulness-Based Somatic Psychology, facilitated by Rupesh Chhagan. There will be a short lecture, experiential exercises and a demonstration. Space is limited, so please RSVP to reserve your spot.

For over 20 years, Rupesh Chhagan, TCMP, Hakomi Practitioner/Trainer, has been practicing holistic healthcare.
