Soul Talks: Global Traditions Around Dying and Mourning

February 12 @ 6:30 pm 8:00 pm

Soul Talks: Living Well, Dying Well is a three-part community series offering a gentle introduction to conversations around death, legacy, loss and love. In the spring series, we’ll explore how different cultures approach death, how we might care for one another more consciously at the end of life, and how creativity can support us in integrating grief after loss.

The Series Includes:

February 12 6:30-8:00pm

Global Traditions Around Dying and Mourning
From candlelit altars in Mexico to sky burials in Tibet, how do different cultures honour the crossing between worlds? What wisdom do these practices hold for how we might meet death more consciously?

March 12 6:30-8:00pm

Returning to the Earth 6:30-8:00pm

What becomes of the body when the soul has gone? How does the way we care for the body after death reflect our beliefs about life? What might it mean to bring death care back into our homes and communities?

April 9 6:30-8:00pm

Death and Creativity *Optional: bring a piece of artwork that you made in a time of grief
From painting to poetry, how can creativity expression become a ritual of remembrance? In what ways does art allow us to befriend impermanence, and to live more fully while we can?
