Join Tabitha Gimbel, a local artist and poet, for a peer-led Family Estrangement Support Group.

Family Estrangement is unfortunately a common lived experience for many and there are very few local resources.

In order to support others going through the isolation and stigma involved in family estrangement Tabitha is starting up a peer-led group for anyone who finds themselves in this situation. Both individuals who have chosen to become estranged from family and those who have family members choosing to estrange themselves are welcome.

This group will run every other Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm in the Community Room starting July 10th. It is a free group, with donations gratefully accepted.

Please send an email to familyestrangmentgroupnanaimo@gmail.com to participate.

Our Community Conversation series is shifting gears to become more interactive. Let's do self-care together and benefit from connecting with others. Each month we'll gather around a theme and engage in a variety of self-care prompts around that theme.

September's theme is "Practice"-- what practices do you want to engage in more often in your life? What does "practice" mean to you? What helps you stick to a practice or a routine? What self-care practices nourish you?

We will begin and end the hour together, with individual time in between to engage in the prompts and practices that resonate for you.

    Led by Jessica.

    Free with an RSVP.
